Kayla's Birthday Celebration

The weekend after Kayla's actual birthday, we had her party at our home. We had close to 20 pre-teen/teen girls over to help us celebrate Kayla's Pirates of the Caribbean themed party. The rain infringed upon our boating plans, but the girls still enjoyed some pool time and a scavenger hunt. Asher, Esther and Emma also enjoyed the party!

Water games.. as you can see, our dog Elly joined in!

Esther and Emma sure enjoy being pampered by Kayla's friends!!

Kayla's cake-- if you look closely, you'll notice they spelled her name wrong.. but no one really noticed. (We just sang Happy Birthday Keyla... instead of Kayla.) =)

Right when Kayla went to blow out her candles.. Asher decided to blow them out for her!

Happy Birthday Kayla

Kayla officially became a teenager when she turned 13 on October 15th. As the third daughter in our family, she's truly the middle child since she is stuck between two older sisters, two younger brothers and two younger sisters! The past few weeks have been torture for her as she has been waiting to jump the the threshold between "pre-teen" and "teenager." Kayla's definitely known as Daddy's little girl and she has not given up that position, despite the fact she has two younger sisters. Kayla always keeps us laughing with her funny sense of humor and charm. A lot of people say that she looks just like me.. but I don't see it yet!

A few fun facts on Kayla:
  • When she was born, she had a head full of hair, that extended past her shoulders!
  • She was the latest walker out of all of us; finally taking steps at age 20 months
  • She's affectionately referred to as Daddy's little girl
  • She is an avid animal lover and a future PETA member
  • When she was younger, her nickname was "Boogie"
  • She's probably the most pickiest eater out of all of us!
